NBA Drafters & Draft Article - Friday January 12th 2018

We have a 9 game slate of NBA action tonight. Here are my strategies, contests and players that I am targeting on Drafters and Draft tonight.

We are back to a full slate and thank God! I got destroyed last night! The Toronto vs Cleveland game went nothing like I projected and that basically was my undoing. The beautiful thing about daily fantasy though is that there is always a new day! As long as you are practicing Good Bankroll Management Strategies you can live to fight another day.

On Drafters I will be playing the 4 man snake drafts. I prefer those contests because you only need a 27% win rate to break even over rate. With the head to head contests you need over 50%. If you never played on Drafters before now is a great time to try it out! They are offering a 50% deposit match for every $1 you put in up to $100. So if you make a $50 deposit you get an additional $25. If you make a $100 deposit you get an additional $50. Simply click this link and use the promo code DFSMASTERS15

On Draft half my entry fees will go to 6 and 10 person drafts. The other half will go to 3 person drafts. I'm probably fading tournaments tonight unless they come out with some lower entry fee ones that are 3 person or smaller. I do have some tournaments I'm still playing in so I don't have to force tournament action tonight.

Let's talk strategy!

For small contests (Head to Head, 3 Person and 4 Person) center is deep tonight. There is really no need to address center until the final round. If you are Drafting on Drafters and you have a Center with multi-position eligibility I would put them at the PF spot first and fill Center later. Guard is slightly deeper than forward but not a big enough discrepancy where I feel you need to draft forward early. My strategy in these contests is to take the best available player and wait on Center until I fill guard and Forward first. The only way I will take Center early is if I keep getting the same center in my drafts.

For larger contests (6 person and Above) Forward is definitely the weakest position tonight. Therefore I will try to address forward in the earlier rounds of my drafts. There is a big gap between the top 6 centers and the bottom 4 centers so I'm also going to try and get one of the top 6 centers. Guard is the position I'm willing to wait for. However, obviously if the guard available is clearly better than the forwards or centers I'll still take the guard.

Since we have a large slate tonight I'm going to provide 5 tiers of players that each have 10 players per tier. I am going to list the preferred position to draft them at, followed by the other position. I would only draft them at the other position if the first position is full.

For players with questionable or worst injury status I am avoiding them. Probable I will take a chance. If I get clear news they are playing and they are still available I will swap them in if I like them better than who I have on Drafters.
